Over the last year years, I’ve photographed hundreds of newborn sessions, but it’s been a couple of years since I have had twins in the studio. Until now, and I had four within just a few months! Double all the things- cuddles, sweet details, and so much joy. I cannot wait to share each of their sessions. First up, these twin boys’ newborn session in my studio in Houston!
One of the things I love to photograph during newborn sessions is your baby’s features and all their details. Their hands, their tiny little feet and baby toes, their nose and pouty lip, their profile, the way their hair lays…all of it. As parents, we spend hours trying to memorize every little detail and before we know it, they grow and those features change little by little.
Photographing Fraternal Twins
With twins, we do that as well. But, I also love discovering their similarities and differences and making sure we document that too. Although Cameron and Drew are are actually biological brothers born 3 weeks apart via their mother and a surrogate, and not technically twins, I approached their session the same way I would traditional twins. Mom wanted to be sure that each baby still had portraits of just themselves as well as plenty of them together.
The boys were so sweet during their newborn session. They did great with their individual portraits but I think they loved laying together the best. I even got a smile at one point!
Cameron and Drew are part of your first year collective and we’ll be documenting their milestones at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months! I cannot wait to see how their similarities and differences unfold and continue to document the bond they share. Be sure to follow along to watch them grow.
If you’re expecting and considering a newborn session, I’d love to chat! We’re booking well into 2022 and take a limited number of newborn sessions in our studio in Houston each month.
