As a Houston Maternity Photographer, I’ve had the honor of photographing over two hundred maternity sessions- each one so special. But there’s just something about twin maternity sessions that stops me every time. It’s a miracle and truly such an honor to be able to document this season for my clients and their families.

Of all the things you know to prepare for during pregnancy after your first, nothing can prepare you for that mix of emotions between being so excited for your firstborn to be a sibling, but also wanting to savor every moment of it just being the two of you. Soon to be big brother, Rohan, will have two baby brothers. Before they make their arrival Mom, Avani, really wanted to document her last pregnancy and moments as a family of three.

It can be easy to get wrapped up in the busyness of life and all of the extra excitement and preparation that comes along with a twin pregnancy, but it’s worth taking the time to slow down. Take it all in. These are the moments that you’ll never get back. Celebrate your pregnancy and celebrate the new role your older child is about to step into. It’s a big deal and I promise you’ll never regret taking these maternity portraits!

Twin Maternity Session in Houston Studio

I love that Avani wanted to have her family join her in our Houston studio for their twin maternity session. We started with classic family portraits and she wore a beautiful cream-colored, off-the-shoulder dress from the studio wardrobe. We wanted to keep things really clean and simple, so we also had the guys in cream and white.

Rohan was so sweet with Avani. This first photo of the two of them is one of my favorite moments I’ve ever caught on camera. It’s one of those pictures that says everything you cannot quite find the words for- a bond between a mom and her firstborn, her son.

After family photos, Avani changed into a long white lace dress for some maternity boudoir photos. I love when clients want to incorporate these into their maternity session. They are some of the most intimate photos and truly encompass the beauty of pregnancy, and Avani was absolutely stunning!

I am blessed to have the opportunity of documenting the twins grow over the next year in The Collective. It’s going to be an exciting year getting to know them and seeing Rohan step into his role as a big brother!
