The last time I met up with this sweet family for a sunset session, Mom and Dad were waiting for the arrival of little Philip, and here we are photographing their first fall family photos as a family of three! This session is also serving as his six-month milestone session and I’m still trying to figure out where the time went. I’m sure Mom and Dad are too!
With each subsequent photoshoot I do with a family during their baby’s first year, I am reminded of why it’s so important. The tiny little baby that once depended on you to hold its head up is now giggling as you play “airplane” with them just six months later. They truly do change so quickly and you often don’t realize it until much later on.
If you’re considering a first-year collective, be sure to contact us as we take a limited number per year and already booking our 2022 collective babies!
Outdoor Six-Month Milestone Session During Fall
Often times we photograph six-month milestone sessions (also known as the sitter session) in my studio in The Heights, but fall tends to encourage a lot of families to do outdoor sessions…and I don’t mind it one bit! It’s cooler, get’s us in the fall spirit, and honestly’ it’s just fun to document your little one exploring the great big world around them. Slowing down to see the world through their little eyes is something I will never grow tired of as both a photographer and mom!
Another reason I love photographing families and milestone sessions outdoors in the fall is for the golden light glow against the colors in the fields! It’s the one time of year I embrace color and slightly darker tones. I find it’s also easier for families with little ones to enjoy it and make a sunset session possible because we’re able to start earlier, as opposed to summer sessions that compete with bedtime.
I think it’s safe to say this little guy loved his session and I know you will too. We’re opening the calendar VERY soon for our annual fall family photos and I cannot wait to see you there!
