I’m having a baby.

 Our 3rd is joining our family in early March and I’m trying to soak up every bit of this experience this time around, knowing its probably my last chance, but I have to be honest that as much as I wanted these images of myself and this bump, I just as much nervous about taking them. I’m not a petite mama with a basketball belly like so many of the beautiful mamas I photograph. I have the tiger marks of a 3rd time mama that I have yet to learn to love and embrace as part of my motherhood story. I knew that most of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe weren’t going to work for me. Hardest of all, I couldn’t be the one behind the camera, yet I wanted images of myself my way and the way I see my clients: glowing and perfect just as they are. Luckily, I have a guy who still sees me that way who stepped up to help.  He’s good to me like that.

So as I stepped out in the first outfit into that white room that I have been in so many times and took my place on the opposite side of the camera this time, I breathed in and let go. I melted into the knowledge that good light and angles are magic and a little Photoshop pixie dust is always there to help if needed. So mamas reading this who aren’t sure if its worth it or if I can create the same kind of beautiful images of you that you see across my site, let me show you these images of me and give you this promise:

You will love your portraits. I will make you feel the most beautiful and feminine that you may have felt lately. I know how to flatter every size and shape so that flaws fade away and your beauty shines out. Your story is important, and this chapter deserves photographs to remember it by.

A note on my maternity leave: I will be on leave from the time I deliver in early March through April and will not be scheduling sessions during that time. I will have very limited availability once I return in May, so please contact me quickly to secure a spot on my calendar. My assistant, Erica, will be available for questions, emails, booking, and finalizing existing orders while I’m out.

We make the process of preparing for you session simple and seamless, so that you can focus on your first priority, your baby, and we can take care of all the rest. After your session, we work hand in hand with you to find beautiful and timeless ways to print and display your new portraits, using only the highest quality archival methods so that your artwork can be cherished for years to come.
