This one is going to be a tough one for me…

I don’t feel pretty. I am nearly 100 pounds overweight from baby weight not lost and added to over the last 4 years.  I don’t feel like myself. I can’t make my hair look right and heaven knows finding clothing is a daily struggle. But, I am working on it, and in a year, things will hopefully be much better for me from an appearance and health standpoint. In a year, I can find the perfect outfit at any store because they will all carry my size. Pictures will be a much better idea in a year.

Except for one thing…

In a year, my baby won’t be 10 months anymore. His soft baby skin will be toughened by falling down and his hair won’t have the same baby wisps. He will be running around and talking up a storm. In a year, he won’t be a baby at all. I can’t wait a year…. and I’m so glad I didn’t.

 In these portraits, I see how much I love him. I see him nuzzling into me, telling me he loves me back. I see the beautiful light of my studio working its magic as is dances and plays with the shadows. Sure, I see my flaws, but they are overpowered by the overwhelming joy and connection these images contain.

Love is what makes the imperfect, perfect.
