As a Houston-based photographer specializing in newborn and family portraits, I’ve had the pleasure of working with countless adorable babies dressed in the cutest outfits. I’m often asked by parents where they can find stylish baby clothing in our lovely city. So I thought I would give you a list of some of my favorite places!

So, let’s dive into five must-visit Houston boutiques for stylish baby clothing!

1. Threadfare Children’s Boutique

Threadfare is a family-owned gem that’s been dressing Houston’s cutest kiddos since 2013. With two locations—one in Garden Oaks and another in The Woodlands—this boutique is a go-to for many Houston parents.

What sets Threadfare apart is their dedication to customer service. They’re always ready to help you find the perfect outfit, whether it’s for a family gathering, a photoshoot, or just a regular Tuesday.

Threadfare carries a wide range of brands for both girls and boys, from newborns to tweens. Some of their popular brands include Jellycat, Rylee + Cru, Quincy Mae, and Kyte Baby.

2. Itsy Bitsy

Founded by Houston native Susan Watt, Itsy Bitsy has been a staple in the Houston baby fashion scene since 2009. Susan’s background in kids and baby businesses at Gap Inc. shines through in the carefully curated selection at Itsy Bitsy.

The boutique’s motto, “they are only little once,” perfectly captures the spirit of the store. It’s all about making the most of those precious early years by dressing your little ones in cute, high-quality clothes that you won’t find in big box stores.

What I love about Itsy Bitsy is their focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere. It’s not uncommon to see kids playing with toys on the floor while parents shop or to find the staff holding babies so moms and grandmothers can browse freely!

3. Little Lords & Ladies

If you’re looking for a unique shopping experience, Little Lords & Ladies is the place to go. This boutique isn’t just about clothes – it’s a children’s beauty salon and boutique all in one!

They offer a fantastic selection of boys’ and girls’ clothing, but what really sets them apart is their professional hair styling services specialized for children. No more dreading haircut day – at Little Lords & Ladies, your little ones can play video games or enjoy other activities while getting their trim.

Located on Westheimer Road, this boutique is perfect for parents who want to combine shopping for stylish clothes with a fun outing for their kids.

4. Little Cottontail

Little Cottontail is a newer addition to the Houston baby boutique scene, but it’s quickly becoming a favorite among local parents. Founded by two photographer moms, Christina and Christine, this Friendswood boutique specializes in classic and timeless fashion for children.

What I love about Little Cottontail is their focus on heirloom pieces—the kind of clothing that can be passed down through generations. They also offer custom embroidery services, allowing you to personalize outfits, bedding, and gifts.

As a fellow photographer, I appreciate their eye for style that translates beautifully in photos. If you’re planning a family photoshoot, Little Cottontail is definitely worth a visit for outfits that will look timeless in your albums for years to come.

5. Purple Mango Kids

Rounding out our list is Purple Mango Kids, a boutique that’s been dressing Houston’s stylish little ones since 2005. What sets Purple Mango apart is their commitment to offering a mix of classic and fashion-forward pieces.

The team at Purple Mango searches worldwide for unique, well-made items from both independent labels and well-known lines. This means you’re likely to find pieces here that you won’t see anywhere else in Houston.

From clothing and shoes to toys and decor, Purple Mango is a treasure trove for parents looking for something fresh and different. Their collection reflects cherished memories of younger days, making shopping here a nostalgic and joyful experience.

As a newborn and family photographer, I’ve seen firsthand how the right outfit can make a photo session truly magical. These five boutiques are my go-to recommendations for parents looking to dress their little ones in style.

So, next time you’re out and about in Houston, why not stop by one of these amazing boutiques?
